SARS have placed a new requirement on all employers to reconcile and submit IRP5’s at the end of August 2010. More information is now required on the tax certificate than before and the procedures for this first mid-year closing differ from those at the end of the tax year.
It is a legal requirement for employers to submit and reconcile tax certificates correctly and failure to do so will result in penalties.
How will VIP assist you?
During August and September VIP will offer a variety of services to assist you with the August PAYE Reconciliation. Please plan ahead and make your reservation for the event(s) of you choice. We anticipate large numbers of clients and availability may be limited due to the tight deadlines enforced by SARS.
Note:
Version 3.0 (August 2010) of the VIP Payroll System will have to be loaded before you can do your August PAYE Reconciliation. The update will be available for download on the VIP website Customer Zone on the 16th of August.
Client Information Session (Presented on 13 August 2010)
This 90 minute session will be run at a Ster Kinekor Cinema near you, free of charge. The session will give an overview of all the software changes included in Version 3 as well as the statutory requirements behind it. The session will be presented by our R&D team.

The August PAYE Reconciliation Seminar (Presented during August and September)
This short and informative VIP seminar will be presented by payroll tax guru, Rob Cooper, who will discuss the final details of the new SARS requirements in laymen’s terms. In addition, special procedures to register your employees for income tax, and the interaction between the latest E@syFile system and your payroll system will be discussed, both now and in the future.

This practical, hands-on workshop is focused on the system features available to simplify the reconciliation and submission process as well as training on all the new non statutory changes included in Version 3.

Group Consultations (Facilitated from September 2010)
Clients are booked in small groups of three to six people, where you work on a laptop loaded with your VIP Payroll Companies. Assisted by a VIP Consultant, you will work through the detailed August tax reconciliation checklist, enabling you to successfully reconcile your tax and create electronic files for import into the E@syfile software.
